Athletics and Cross Country at Kinross Wolaroi are held during terms 2 and 3 and are whole school events with students competing in their respective age groups in their tutor House colours. Cross Country is held at the PLC campus and is 4km in length. The top 10 runners from each age group then go on to represent KWS at the Western Schools carnival in Bathurst, from this students progress to the CIS Carnival ( formerly students went to the AICES level but this has been removed as of 2009). Students who are successful in gaining a top 10 finish at CIS progress through to the NSW All school's carnival. There have been a number of successful Cross country runners for KWS including Veronica Wallington ( NSW team captain 2008) and World Championship individual Bronze Medalist and Australian team Gold Medalist, Tamsyn Moana Veale, Rachel Wood and Todd Lang all of whom have competed at the National level.
Athletics is held during term 3 and is a whole school 2 day carnival where student participation is valued. Students compete in age groups and represent their tutor house. From this carnival a team is selected to compete at the Western School's carnival (held at KWS) and the ISA carnival held at Homebush stadium. Kinross Woloroi currently holds all trophies at WAS level and the Junior, Senior and overall Aggregate trophy for girls at ISA level. From ISA students are selected to compete at CIS level and then on to the NSW All School's carnival both held at Homebush. Biannually there are Pacific School games where students can compete against other states and international athletes. In 2008 Torika Thorn an exceptional athlete won 2 state titles in throwing events and along with Mikeala and Leisel Gray will represent NSW at the Pacific titles.
