Membership of the Foundation 

An individual, a family, a company, a trust or an association may qualify for one of the three classifications of membership as follows: Governor (15,000 +), Fellow ($5,000 - $15,000) or ordinary Member ($2,000 - $5,000).

For individuals, membership at each level is for Life. In other cases, membership shall be for such period of time as may be determined by the Board of Management. Progression may be made by a Fellow or a Member to a higher classification at any time. Gifts may be spread over a period of five years.

Every member of the Foundation is eligible to be elected to the Board of Management which is responsible for the control, management and conduct of the Foundation. The Board consists of:

  • All persons who have qualified at Governor level who wish to take a seat on the Board.
  • Three representatives of the Fellows as elected by the Fellows.
  • Two representatives of the Members as elected by the Members
  • The Board of Management appoints an Executive Committee plus appropriate Standing Committees. 

Taxation Concessions 

Gifts to the Kinross Wolaroi Foundation Building Fund are allowable deductions for taxation purposes. These funds can only be used for the purposes specified earlier and are not usually permitted to accumulate into too large a corpus of funds.

Contributions towards education can be arranged through a special fund which allows a Tax Deductions. 

Ways of joining the Foundation 

It is possible to join the Foundation in a variety of ways, for example, by making:


  • an outright gift of cash or immediately realisable assets (such as shares in a public company).
  • a gift of cash or realisable assets spread over a period of up to five years
  • a transfer of Life Assurance Policy
  • a bequest
  • an interest free loan with the income being used as the contribution
  • deferred gift of real or personal property with a retention of life interest to the donor or his/her nominee
  • a gift of livestock
  • a gift of object d'art
  • a combination of any of the above methods.

Application for membership should be made on the prescribed application form.

The Kinross Wolaroi Foundation is: 

  • An investment in the future

  • To ensure the long term security of Kinross Wolaroi School
  • To preserve and improve the standards and facilities of the School for future generations.
