The Prep School offers a program for students learning an instrument through our Band and String Ensembles. These two groups perform regularly in school functions, Eisteddfods and community events. Every boy and girl sings in a choir and many also perform in verse speaking groups. Our infants, junior primary, and senior primary choirs have enjoyed great success over a number of years in Eisteddfod competitions.

Embedded into our music programme, Year 1 children learn the violin. They partake in lessons over a 10 week period to ascertain their aptitude and attitude towards learning a stringed instrument.

In Primary years our students are offered the opportunity to learn a band instrument before being selected as a member of our Prep Band. The aim is to achieve selection as a member of the Prep Band.

Each year the Prep School produces two substantial drama productions. The staff write and direct musicals for boys and girls in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2, and also for our senior primary classes. Year 3 and 4 use the skills of outside production companies for their performances.

These events are greatly anticipated and welcome much acclaim from the school and wider community.
