KWS Rowing Shed and Pontoon are situated at Spring Creek Reservoir on the edge of town. Access is only allowed by bus into and out of the Shed. Unfortunately private cars and spectators are not able to enter the Spring Creek Reserve area.
Rowing machines are situated in a dedicated room in the school gymnasium.
Competitive crews have high levels of fitness and technical skills. KWS rowers strive for perfect training sessions every time they are in the gym, on the rowing machines (ERGs) or on the water. KWS rowers are expected to be on time and in correct training uniform for every session. There are separate programs for Summer and Winter so that all rowers maintain a level of fitness throughout the year.
Selections will be based on a number of criteria, none of which will solely determine selection to a crew. Crew selection will be determined by a combination of all of the factors listed below
The school will be competing at the National Regatta on Lake Barrington Tasmania in 2009, but only limited transport and accommodation are available so those students who are capable of performing at that level and who have trained hard will be selected to compete during the week long competition.
