Student Life

Tennis@KWS

Tennis is a very popular sport at KWS during the summer season. There are two competitions in which students can participate - the Internal School Competition and a School representative squad called the ISA Western Division (WAS Tennis).  Both Social Tennis and WAS Tennis compete on Saturday mornings.  Internal School Tennis players belong to a team of 4 and compete in a combination of mixed doubles and singles games during the week. On Saturdays a singles ladder operates giving students the opportunity to challenge players higher up the ladder in order to improve their position. Students enjoy the social aspect of the game as well as the challenge of the competitions. WAS Tennis consists of 4 players in each of 5 age groups, from the U13's to the Opens.  Each player competes in a doubles and singles match.  Players compete against independent schools in Bathurst.  A professional coach assists players in developing and improving their tennis skills and game-play.  Students are selected for the squad from a series of trials.  Those with a competitive edge enjoy the opportunities and the challenges of representing the School.
