Student Life

Dining at KWS

At Kinross Wolaroi School we get asked many questions from prospective and current students and parents about the food on offer for our boarders. With an active co-curricular programme and six lessons a day, it is vital that a nutritional diet is on offer for our students.

Kinross Wolaroi School is fortunate to have the Alliance Catering company as the provider of well balanced meals for breakfast lunch and dinner, as well as healthy and delicious snacks in between!

The day starts with a continental breakfast of cereal, fruit, milk and juice as well as a hot breakfast option for those chilly Orange mornings, like eggs or pancakes. Recess fuses fresh fruit with muesli bars, cakes or a cheese roll for example, with a cup of tea and water available at all times. In Winter, the kitchen makes a mean cup of soup for a snack.

Lunch is typically a selection sandwiches, made with various breads (wholemeal, multigrain and white), varying hot food selections, yoghurt and fruit. Drinks offered at this time are water and cordial.

Dinner caters for the health conscious, vegetarian, boys with big appetites and girls with health in mind. On most occasions there are two options available, plus a vegetarian option. There is usually salads available. Dinner is a two course meal, with a dessert offered after main course. Dinner is a social event, as students have a more structured two meal sitting, They are required to be neat and tidy and always use table manners.

On weekends evening meals are usually walk through dinners so that the students can get their meal and arrange to sit with friends in a relaxed environment.
