Experience KWS
While this website can provide you with an insight into life at Kinross Wolaroi School, the true essence and atmosphere can only be experienced by visiting us during a normal school day.
KWS run Individual or family tours, Open Tour Days and Experience Days.
Family tours are available by appointment with the Registrar and, if you can’t make it on a school day, we can also arrange visits during school holidays and on weekends.
If you are considering enrolling your child as a boarder in the Senior School, the tour will include visits to the relevant Boarding Houses.
The School also holds a number of Experience Days and Open Days, which allow your child to spend time with a current student of the same age and experience time in class with their 'buddy'.
KWS also attends a number of field days and expos each year, where you can chat with senior members of the teaching and Boarding staff, along with the Registrar. You can find a list of all public events by clicking this link.
Open Tour Day Bookings
‘Open Tour Day’ visits will be hosted by the Registrar and students of varying year groups from across the School.
A list of all our open tour days and times is provided in the schedule below. If you are interested in viewing our facilities, our Registrar Michelle would welcome your enquiry. Decide which tour suits you and provide a few details via the online registration form and Michelle will contact you personally to confirm that the tour time of your choice has been booked.
Open Tour Day dates for 2013:
- Friday 24th May
- Thursday 20th June
- Friday 2nd August

Experience Days
Two Experience Days will be added to the calendar at Kinross Wolaroi School for 2013.
Experience Day is a more intimate kind of Open Day, and sees prospective students and their families paired up with a KWS 'buddy' of the same age. This student remains with their buddy for the whole day. Tours of the entire school will occur, with all visiting students taking advantage of the recess and lunch facilities of our boarders.
The visiting students then accompany their buddies to the classroom, where they share in a few lessons within the curriculum. In the past, science experiments, PDHPE classes, music tutorials and maths challenges have all been included in the activities of the day. Preparatory School visitors also take part in tours and participate in a variety of lessons.
Whilst the students are occupied in classes, parents will hear from Principal Brian Kennelly, as well as other key staff members at the School; then many current staff and parents will join the new families for a casual lunch and chat in the Library.
After lunch local visitors are free to leave, whilst those who would be joining us as girl Boarding students can partake in a tour of the PLC Girls' Boarding site.
‘Experience Day’ has been a highly successful and eventful day that is now a permanent fixture on the KWS calendar. To request more information or a follow-up phone call, click here, or phone The Director of Development, Mr Paul Tierney on 6392 0305.
