Football@KWS

Football (Soccer) at Kinross Wolaroi is played in both the Preparatory and Secondary Schools. It is a sport played by both Boys and Girls and has been growing steadily since its arrival at the school. The teams play in the Orange District local competition on Saturdays with the Firsts also playing weekday matches against other local schools. There are two dedicated ovals for Football with facilities also available in the gymnasium for Futsal.

Kinross Wolaroi School - FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS

The Kinross Wolaroi School - Football Supporters have the aim of supporting and assisting the development of football at KWS.

Football at KWS is played by girls and boys at the Preparatory & Secondary school levels and is played externally as part of the Orange & Bathurst district competitions as well as played internally providing strength to the respective age groups playing competitive football.

Football has been a relatively recent addition to the senior school co-curricular programme, having really only taken off across the entire Senior School since 2000. Football has grown in popularity across the School and is now played by over 200 students from the U6's through to the 1st's and including internal football. Detailed below is a brief history of football in the Senior School kindly provided by Mr Healey.

The Football Supporters are not seeking membership fees, rather we hope to raise some funds through the season on Gala Days or other occasions, with the funds raised going toward providing small gifts to final year students who have played their last season of football at KWS and also to recognise those students that have played football for all their senior years at KWS, as well as assisting to provide any additional training or support equipment that further assists football at the School.

Parents are invited to nominate for committee positions on the Football Supporters Committee or to assist with some of the seasons activities. An initial meeting and election of committee members will be held early in Term 2, there will be no pressure to fill positions, we welcome any interested parents to attend and lend their support and ideas for the benefit of football at KWS at all levels. Ideas & topics to be discussed at this meeting will include:

  • Fundraising & Gala Days,
  • Team Managers to assist the coaches
  • Start & End of season activities
  • Address any questions regarding football at KWS

The Master in Charge of Football - Mr Matt Smedley will be at the meeting and will be happy to address any queries or issues regarding football.
