Student Life

Pre-Prep is a part of the Early Learning area of our school.  It caters for children in the year before they begin school.

The aim of Pre-Prep is to provide a learning environment which encourages each child to:

  • Take an active role
  • Successfully interact with peers and adults
  • Use all of one's senses to explore and learn
  • Use self expression and effective communication through language, dramatic play and the arts
  • Develop positive attitudes towards oneself and others
  • Develop competence
  • Develop confidence in oneself
  • Develop cross cultural acceptance of a variety of nationalities.

Pre-Prep gives an opportunity for children to develop individually in an atmosphere of care and acceptance.

  • Stimulating experiences with a variety of equipment and resources.
  • Freedom to be creative and develop self-esteem. Programmes designed for  children to think for themselves, to become independent and to be a cooperative member of a group
  • A chance to relate to adults and children outside the family
  • A valuable experience where a child can laugh, cry, shout and be silent, and know that he/she is understood.

Miss Ann-Margaret Gunther is the Director of Pre-Prep and believes that every child should continue to develop and progress through the learning materials and experiences that the teacher provides.

  • Social/Emotional development:  Feeling good about oneself, being prepared to persevere despite difficulties, getting along with others, being able to play alone and in a group.
Pre-Prep focuses on:
