International Students

Studying abroad can be a life-enriching experience. For students and their families considering Kinross Wolaroi School, our International Student Handbook contains detailed information about the School and what we can offer international students.

International students can join at any year level from Year 7 to Year 11, if a vacancy exists and the student satisfies the conditions of enrolment. Each international student application is taken on a case by case basis.

All international students are required to enrol as boarding students. The School does not accept students under “Homestay” arrangements.

Applications for Enrolment

Applications for enrolment can be made by completing the International Student Enrolment Application Form.

International students, including overseas students studying on a 500 Student Visa, are required to provide a copy of their:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport
  • Visa details
  • Evidence of their English proficiency.

An Application Fee of $500 is payable upon submission of the Enrolment Application Form.

International students whose first language is not English and have been studying in Australia for less than one year, will be required to sit an English assessment to show evidence of their English competency. Kinross Wolaroi School does not offer conditional places. All costs associated with English competency testing are to be paid by the family/student.

In order for the application of an international student to be accepted at Kinross Wolaroi School, the following levels of English proficiency MUST be reached:

  • Years 10–12 - Advanced Level above 80%
  • Years 7–9 - Pre-Advanced Level above 71%

Once the completed Enrolment Application Form, supporting documentation and the Application Fee have been received, an offer of a Reserved Place may be made, subject to a place being available within the Year Group requested and all required documentation provided is complete.

An acceptance of this offer is required within one month of offer, accompanied by a payment of a non-refundable Acceptance Fee of $1100, to ensure the place is allocated on the Reserved Place Enrolment List.

If a place is not available, the student will be placed on the Waiting List and no Acceptance Fee is required until a Reserved Place is offered.

Up to two years prior to commencement, prospective students and their parents will be required to complete a Pre-Enrolment Form and attend an interview. School reports are also required.

These interviews are conducted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team. At this interview, the school’s expectations of parents and students are discussed. If the student and family are overseas, an online interview can be arranged.

Elective choices for older students will be discussed and clarified prior to confirmation of enrolment.

Following a satisfactory interview, a Confirmed Offer of Enrolment may be made.

An acceptance of this Confirmed Offer is required within one month of offer, accompanied by a payment of the non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $400.

Students seeking to study at Kinross Wolaroi School on a 500 Student Visa are also required to pay a Tuition Bond (equivalent to one term's Tuition and Boarding Fees) at confirmation of enrolment and pre-pay one term of Tuition Fees.

Once a confirmed place has been accepted, students seeking to apply for a 500 Student Visa will require a Confirmation of Entry (CoE). The school will then provide a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW).
