Our Scholarship and Bursary Program offers a limited number of scholarships to outstanding day and boarding students entering Years 5, 7, 9, and 11.

Scholarships & Bursaries
2027 Scholarships
Kinross Wolaroi School will be accepting scholarship applications from 1 October 2025 until Friday 23 January 2026 for students entering Years 5, 7, 9, and 11 in 2027.
Scholarships on offer for 2027 include:

2027 Scholarships & Bursaries

Academic Scholarship
An Academic Scholarship may provide up to 75% remission of tuition fees. Applications are open to both current Kinross Wolaroi School students and those not yet enrolled. To be eligible, applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and entering Years 5, 7, 9 or 11 in 2026.
General Excellence Scholarship
A General Excellence Scholarship offers up to 50% remission of tuition fees and recognises students who demonstrate outstanding all-round achievement. In 2027, this scholarship will be available to students entering Year 9 or Year 11.
Boarding Bursary
A Boarding Bursary may provide up to 100% remission of the accommodation component of the annual boarding fee (excluding the food component). The bursary does not cover tuition fees or additional school services such as uniforms, private music lessons, instrument hire, Cadets or transport.
Music Scholarship & Crescendo Music Scholarship
Our Music Scholarships celebrate students with exceptional musical talent. A Music Scholarship provides up to 50% remission of tuition fees, while the prestigious Crescendo Music Scholarship offers up to 100%. These awards apply to tuition fees only and do not extend to additional school services.
Junior School Performing Arts Scholarship
A Performing Arts Scholarship may be awarded for up to 75% of the annual tuition fees applicable to enrolment and acknowledges a student whose strength is in music, dance or drama. Eligible applicants must be entering Year 5 in 2027.
Ex-Student Scholarship
The Ex-Student Scholarship offers up to 25% remission of tuition fees for children of Kinross Wolaroi School alumni. The award applies to tuition fees only and does not cover additional school services. Eligible applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and entering Year 11 in 2027.
Application Process
To apply for a scholarship at Kinross Wolaroi School, candidates must:
Complete the Online Application
Submit the online application below, ensuring all required supporting documents are provided. Refer to the Scholarship Guidelines for specific requirements, as these vary between scholarship categories.
Sit the Scholarship Examination
Attend the scholarship examination at Kinross Wolaroi School on the assigned date each February. The exam is conducted by ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research), which also manages the registration process and provides independent testing services.
Attend an Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the Principal at the school.
Audition for Music Scholarships
Candidates applying for Music or Performing Arts scholarships must also complete an audition as part of the selection process.

When do applications for scholarships open and close?
Our 2027 Scholarship registrations will open on Wednesday 1 October 2025 and close on 23 January 2026. Scholarship examinations will be conducted at the school on Monday 9 February 2026.
What is the scholarship criteria?
All applicants must complete an online application and submit supporting documents outlined in the Scholarship Guidelines. To be considered for a scholarship all candidates must also sit the scholarship examination, which will be held on site at Kinross Wolaroi School.
What does the scholarship application fee cover?
The scholarship application fee covers the ACER Scholarship Examinationfee and costs such as supervisors for the examination.
How are scholarships awarded?
Academic scholarships are awarded based on the results of the compulsory scholarship examination that is held on site and where candidates are shortlisted, the outcome of a competitive selection interview.
Music & Crescendo Scholarships are awarded based on completing an audition, submission of supporting documentation outlined in the scholarship guidelines in addition to the compulsory scholarship examination.
General Excellence and Boarding Bursaries are awarded based on submission of supporting documentation outlined in the scholarship guidelines in addition to the compulsory scholarship examination.
Who can apply for scholarships?
To be eligible for a scholarship at Kinross Wolaroi School, the applicant must be an Australian Citizen or be a permanent resident of Australia. Current Kinross Wolaroi School students as well as those who are not yet enrolled at the School are welcome to apply.
How can parents help their child prepare for the exam?
Parents can best support their child by ensuring they are well rested, encouraged, not pressured, and arrive on time with the correct equipment.
Indigenous Scholarships
Kinross Wolaroi School is proud to offer a limited number of Indigenous scholarships each year, supporting the educational journeys of talented students. As a proud partner of the Yalari Foundation, we are committed to providing life-changing opportunities for Indigenous children from regional, rural, and remote communities across Australia.
Yalari, a not-for-profit organization, offers secondary education scholarships at leading Australian boarding schools, including Kinross Wolaroi. Currently, several Indigenous students at our school benefit from this valuable support. To be eligible, applicants must be Indigenous children from regional, rural, or remote communities who are entering Year 7.
