Celebrating Leadership, Diversity and Community spirit
Kinross Wolaroi School is proud to be a Round Square school. Round Square schools share a commitment to character education and experiential learning, built around six themes – our IDEALS: International Understanding, Democracy, Environmental Stewardship, Adventure, Leadership and Service.
This year, the Junior School used the Round Square IDEALS as the framework for Year 6 Leadership experiences, which included fundraising, student events and service learning. These values came to life in an exciting new initiative.
Our First Round Square Day
On Wednesday 24 September 2025, the Junior School hosted its first Round Square Day. Designed and led by Year 6 students, the day included activities for every year group, with Year 5 students assisting as they began their own leadership journey.
Across the morning and lunchtime, students enjoyed activities organised by each House:
- Pre-Kinder & Kindergarten: Main Oval Adventure – GordonHouse
- Years 1 & 2: Ninja Warrior Course – Douglas House
- Years 3 & 4: KWS Amazing Race – Brown House
- Pre-Kinder – Year 6: Multicultural Food Stalls – McLachlanHouse
A BBQ lunch was shared by all students, with McLachlan House adding a special twist: a multicultural “lunch dessert” experience.

Multicultural Food Stalls
One of the highlights of Round Square Day was the Multicultural Food Stalls, organised by McLachlan House. Families from across the Junior School contributed taster dishes, with many sharing food that reflected their cultural heritage.
Each dish was provided with an ingredients list, and Stage 3 students created posters showcasing the cultural origins of the food. Students loved sampling a wide range of finger-food treats, served by families and students who enthusiastically decorated their stalls and dressed in cultural attire to celebrate the diversity of our community.
A Wonderful Celebration
Round Square Day was a vibrant celebration of student leadership, global citizenship and community spirit. It was the perfect way to finish Term 3, and a tradition we look forward to continuing in the years ahead.
