Inspiring the School Community for the Year Ahead

At Kinross Wolaroi School, our student leaders play a vital role in shaping the culture, spirit, and community of the school. They lead by example, support their peers, and help make Kinross Wolaroi a place where every student feels welcome and inspired to reach their potential. Our 2026 leaders are no exception – bringing energy, courage, and a commitment to serving others.

Charlie (Deputy Prefect), Ivy (Head Prefect), Angus (Head Prefect), & Julia (Deputy Prefect)

Head Prefects: Angus & Ivy

Angus, a boarder from Cootamundra who joined in Year 9, is our 2026 Head Boy Prefect. For him, leadership is about being approachable and setting the standard for the culture we want to see at Kinross Wolaroi. He remembers how challenging it was when he first started, and the difference older students made simply by offering a friendly face. Now, he’s determined to give back by fostering the same sense of welcome and belonging for others.

Ivy, who joined as a boarder from Sydney this year, has been named Head Girl Prefect. She sees her role as both a support to her fellow prefects and a voice for the wider school community. With her background in cadets and natural passion for connecting with others, Ivy values courage, participation, and authenticity.

“It’s important to be yourself,” she says. “If you know what’s right and stay true to that, you’ll always do well.”

Both Angus and Ivy share the goal of strengthening the positive culture at Kinross Wolaroi, building an environment where every student feels supported and able to achieve their best.

Deputy Head Prefects: Charlie & Julia

Supporting our Head Prefects are Deputy Head Prefects Charlie and Julia. Charlie, a boarder who has been at Kinross Wolaroi since Year 7, believes leadership is about service and putting others before yourself. He hopes to build a closer-knit community and ensure achievements across all areas of school life are recognised.

Julia, a day student who started in Year 3, agrees that leadership is about more than a badge or title.

“It’s about the things you do when no one’s watching – getting involved, helping out, and being a rolemodel,” she explains. For her, respect and empathy are key values she hopes to promote as a leader.

Together, Charlie and Julia are committed to supporting their peers, fostering inclusiveness, and leaving the School in an even stronger place for the students who follow.

Their Advice for Younger Students

All four leaders share a consistent message for younger students aspiring to leadership: take opportunities, be courageous, and stay true to yourself. Whether it’s stepping up to try something new, showing kindness to others, or simply being a positive presence, they believe that leadership is built day by day through actions that reflect integrity and respect.

Favourite Memories

Their favourite memories of Kinross Wolaroi reflect the richness of school life – from Angus’ unforgettable ISA Rugby grand final win, to Julia’s Year 9 cadet camp camaraderie, and Charlie’s decision to take part in the World’s Greatest Shave, supported by the whole school community.

As our 2026 student leaders step into their roles, they are ready to guide, support, and inspire their peers while fostering a positive and inclusive school community. Their dedication, values, and commitment to makinga difference promise an exciting year ahead at Kinross Wolaroi School.
